Core concepts
The handful of ideas that make the rest of the docs click.
The vocabulary
- Intent
- A signed statement of a balance change you want (for example, swap X of asset A for at least Y of asset B). You sign the intent; you do not broadcast a transparent transaction.
- Solver network
- Off-chain solvers compete to fill your intent at the best price without exposing your data to a public mempool.
- Settlement layer
- The on-chain verifier validates the signature on your intent and settles the result. Final state is recorded on a private shard.
- Wallet-as-account
- The wallet you sign in with is your account identity. There is no separate Vaelun account to create.
- MEV
- Maximal Extractable Value — profit extracted by reordering or inserting transactions around yours. Private routing is designed to reduce your exposure to it.
How a trade flows
You choose assets and an amount, a solver network competes for the route, you review the real quote, and you sign the intent in your wallet. The settlement layer verifies your signature and settles — privately.
